Zombie-Run

Tis the season to be scary, mwaha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!

In all seriousness, it’s halloween this weekend, and joining in with the spirit(s) MR have put together a list of five Halloween races you can still enter:

Grim Blackout – 31/10 – Camberley, Surrey

Enter here.

A 7-miler made out of two 3.5 mile loops, this is a purely at-night event. You’ll need a headtorch as you sweep through bogs, woods and hills in pitch black. Remember, there’s safety in numbers, don’t let the shadows fool you.

Monster Dash – 31/10 – Galway, Ireland

Enter here.

This 5K event will also be at night. Starting and finishing at the Kings Head on the high street, you’ll run through Old Galway with other ghosts, ghouls and monsters. Fancy dress is a must, or you’ll likely be the odd one out. There’s also a prize for best-dressed.

Spooky Sprint – 31/10 – Holme Pierrepont, Nottingham

Register on the day.

With a variety of events (10K, 5K or Family Fun Run), there’s a little something for everyone. The 5K and 10K will take place in the dark, and runners will be provided with chip timing, a breathable glow in the dark tee and a headtorch. As well as a glow in the dark medal at the end.

Trick or Treat Run – 01/11 – Richmond, Surrey

Enter here.

The only event in here that’s part of the English capital. The 10K is now sold out, but entries for the 5K and 10K are available up until Friday night. Fancy dress is encouraged, and again there are prizes for those best-dressed!

Halloween Nite Run – 31/10 – Reading, Berkshire

Enter here.

This 5K course is described as ‘dark and scary – and not ghost-free’! Running across moonlit meadows and through a darkened woods via ‘The Land of the Green Goblins’, this is as good as it gets on Halloween.
