If you rank inov-8 as one of the best running brands out there, and have an interest in Lake District running, it might interest you to know it’s now partnering up with trail race organisers Lakeland Trails.

The pairing sees the two join forces for the next three years, and the move is likely to see the popular race series continue to grow in size and attract more than the 12,500 off-road runners who took part in 2016.

Inov-8 – now widely known for creating quality off-road running shoes and clothing – is based in the Lake District itself, close to where the first-ever Lakeland Trails race was held in 2004.

“Our products are developed in the Lake District, in the toughest of conditions and we believe in investing in running in the Lake District,” said Michael Price, director of product and marketing for the company.

“It’s our home, it’s one of the best places to run in the world and has an unrivalled running history. The Lakeland Trails are a perfect fit for us. There’s an event for every runner, from a 5K all the way up to the Lakes Ultra.”

The event director at Lakeland Trails, Graham Patten, also believes that the deal is fitting of the events and location. “We are delighted to welcome the inov-8 team to the Lakeland Trails family,” he claimed.

“Having a local business who are passionate about trail running to work with on developing the events, will help us showcase what a spectacular location the Lake District is for world class events like the Lakeland Trails.”

Runners from all over the world take to the Lake District to compete in these inspiring and scenic events, which together bring a total of £5m to the regional economy.

So if you’re game for a challenge, or are just in search of a race that’s set in a pretty amazing location, it’s definitely worth checking out this year’s race list.
