In what appears to be the latest teenage fad, ‘Gull Running’ has been hitting British seaside towns; Blackpool, Brighton, Newquay and Whitby.

Dubbed as a new ‘extreme sport’, ‘Gull Running’ essentially involves: 1 x teenager with copious amounts of spare time, 1 x fish and chips and 1 x hungry seagull eagerly eyeing its potential dinner.

The rules? Either pick a start and finish, or see how far you can run holding fish and chips above your head before you’re attacked. Can you mates beat your distance?

“The idea is to get to the end without a bird nabbing the chips. The winner is whoever can run the furthest without the seagull getting anything.”

Another said: “The seagulls are a pain around here and they’ll try and nick your food anyway so we might as well have some fun while they’re doing it. The tourists think it’s hilarious.”

This has subsequently provided some of the tourists with barrels of laughter, whether out of pity or support remains to be seen.

Another silly teenage invention, or can you see yourself ‘Gull Running’?
