adidas has unveiled its first performance shoe to combine its energy return foam cushioning, BOOST with the precision fit of adidas Primeknit.
The adizero Prime Boost sole uses the same design as the adizero adios Boost which has been worn by the winners of 17 major marathons.
The upper consists of adidas Primeknit, a digital knitting technology using the latest engineering methods to develop an upper that is lightweight and designed to fit “like a second layer of skin”. Each section of the knit upper is engineered to provide a precision fit for a secure, comfortable run.
“The fit, feel and performance of the adizero Prime Boost is unlike any running shoe we’ve produced,” said Andy Barr, global senior product manager at adidas. “The form fit of adidas Primeknit matched with the cushioning of BOOST cradles your foot in comfort while delivering all the energy you can handle in every stride. The adizero Prime Boost is a shoe we’ve all been looking forward to.”
The adizero Prime Boost weighs 240g and costs £185. We’ll be reviewing the shoe in full in Men’s Running.
