“Flat, fast & festive!” The Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon is the Grand Finale and signature event of the Canada Running Series. This race attracts a large field of over 25,000 runners each year as Canada’s #1 big-city marathon. In addition to holding a prestigious IAAF Gold Label, it will also serve as host of the 2015 Canadian National Marathon Championships.
The course is very scenic, as participants start and finish in the heart of the city, while heading out and back along the lakeshore for some fantastic waterfront running. The flat and fast features of this event have consistently been the reason for so many people achieving a personal best, qualifying for Boston and having a memorable, outstanding race.
There are bands and Neighbourhood Entertainment Centres every 2K, cheerleaders and numerous aid stations. Overall, there’s a great, festive atmosphere. All participants get technical T-shirts and an exciting finisher’s medal featuring a different Toronto landmark each year.
Toronto Waterfront, however, is much more than just a run… it’s a festive, full weekend that starts with special guest speakers at the free two-day Expo, Friday and Saturday. On Saturday morning there’s a free, short International Friendship Run, and a post-race Victory party in Nathan Phillips Square from 8:00am to 3:30pm on Sunday. Join us on 18 October 2015 for an unforgettable Toronto experience!
