One of the success stories of 2013 was the inaugural Bournemouth Marathon Festival. With miles of glorious, unspoilt golden sands and clear blue sea, Bournemouth and Poole provided a beautiful backdrop for a big running event. This year’s event on 4 and 5 October promises to build on this success, offering runners an awesome, unrivalled running experience.
Director Neil Kilgour said: ‘The spectacular, natural running environment and fresh air of Bournemouth and Poole has proved the perfect choice for runners who want to run “as it should be”, making it an exciting addition to the UK running calendar.’
The autumn race date means Bournemouth Marathon Festival is the big end-of-season event where all the hard work you’ve put in during the year will pay off. Saturday hosts junior races, a 5K and a 10K, with the half and full marathon completing the line-up on Sunday. The course is fast and picturesque, making it a must-do for runners, fundraisers and anyone looking to set a PB!
The Bournemouth Marathon Festival is also a chance to make a difference to other people’s lives by raising money for charity. Bournemouth Marathon Festival 2014 will build on the huge charity dimension of last year’s event.
