The Ultra Brecon 40 Winter Edition, held on 6 December 2014, takes in some of the most stunning and challenging trail-running terrain the UK has to offer. The single-loop course will take you 40 miles around the high peaks of the Brecon Beacons National Park, Wales, where you will encounter 2,500m of ascent. The mixed trail, mountainous terrain will be sure to keep you on your toes… and the wintry December weather and hours of darkness will simply add to the challenge! However, you won’t be left totally in the dark when it comes to navigation – the course is fully signed and GPS devices are welcomed.
For those not ready for the full 40 miles, there is also a marathon (1,700m of ascent) and ten-mile trail course (700m of ascent), but be warned – these should not be viewed as easy options!
