Baxters Loch Ness Marathon, 29th September 2013

Whether you’re a marathon veteran or simply looking for a great race in a spectacular setting, the Baxters Loch Ness Marathon & Festival of Running on 28 September is the one to do this year.

There are great marathons around the world – many of them particularly marked by their settings – and Loch Ness ranks right alongside them. The point-to-point route begins in an atmospheric moorland setting towards the south end of the iconic loch and continues through breathtaking scenery along the shores of Loch Ness, across the River Ness and into the Highland capital of Inverness.

For the fourth year in a row, this popular race will host the Scottish marathon championships.

Don’t feel up to entering the full marathon? The Festival of Running also includes the River Ness 10K, River Ness 5K Fun Run and Wee Nessie for pre-schoolers, while businesses can promote a healthy working lifestyle in the 10K Corporate Challenge.

The whole weekend has a real festival atmosphere, with live music throughout the day, the Baxters Food & Drink Fayre, a sports expo featuring a superb selection of running gear and accessories, and lots of kids’ activities.

Entry for all races is open now, so sign up now!
