Whether you’ve set your sights on a full marathon or consider a 10K or 5K challenge enough, now is the time to make the commitment and sign up to the Baxters Loch Ness Marathon & Festival of Running on 27 September 2015. The festival also features a 10K, 5K, corporate team challenge and kids’ race.
With eight months of training time, there’s really no excuse! So, enter today and feel good about taking that first step. Early Bird rates available until 1 March.
There are great marathons around the world, many of them particularly marked by their settings, and Loch Ness ranks right alongside them. The point-to-point route begins in an atmospheric moorland setting towards the south end of the iconic loch, and continues through breath-taking scenery along the shores of Loch Ness, across the River Ness and into the Highland capital of Inverness.
If a full-scale marathon isn’t for you, why not enter the Baxters River Ness 10K? This flat point-to-point course, with excellent PB potential, winds through the historic Highland capital, passing the castle and along the banks of the picturesque River Ness.
There is also a Corporate Challenge for teams of four to six over the 10K distance, the River Ness 5K Fun Run for all ages and abilities, and the Wee Nessie kids’ race for under 5s.
The whole weekend has a real festival atmosphere and Inverness extends the welcoming hand of Highland hospitality to 9,000 competitors from over 30 countries.
With a Sports Expo featuring a superb selection of running gear and accessories, Food & Drink Fayre, live music and kids’ activities throughout the day, there’s plenty to entertain runners and supporters of all ages.
There are guaranteed places available for the marathon until 1 July, with charity, club runner and overseas places available after this date. Guaranteed entry is available now for the River Ness 10K, 10K Corporate Challenge, 5K and Wee Nessie.
