If you are city race addict, then you will be pleased to hear adidas has announced a new series of closed-road London events.
Each race will be held at a different location, giving participants a chance to run through a number of the capital’s most vibrant spots.
The first event kicks off on the 8th October with the Shoreditch 10K, and more adidas City Runs are expected to be announced soon.
An exciting opportunity
Lee Gibbons, the senior director of sports marketing at adidas, believes each of the runs will offer an exciting opportunity to runners.
“We wanted to create a series of runs which offers runners of all abilities the chance to unlock, explore and celebrate the diversity of London’s best neighbourhoods and communities,” he said.
Charity partner
The series sees adidas partner with CMS Sport & Entertainment and London’s Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital Charity.
Money raised by participants will go towards the popular charity, who play a key role in supporting the work that goes on at GOSH.
“We are delighted to be the official charity partner for the adidas City Run series, which is such an exciting addition to the running calendar,” revealed Laura Savory, the hospital’s head of community fundraising.
And if you are a regular at parkrun, it may interest you to know that money will also go towards the free weekend running event.
So make sure you sign up to the first event this October, and keep your eyes peeled for any news regarding other race locations.
