What?
With the option of a 10K, half-marathon and full marathon, this is without doubt Jamaica’s premier international running festival. Some 25 nationalities are represented at the race with beginners and pros all welcome. The post-race after party is one of the best on the planet, so participants have previously suggested, putting the Reggae Marathon among the top ten races of this distance in the world.

Negril, Jamaica. In other words: paradise.
Why?
Starting with a collection of runners who called themselves the “Jamdammers” (a name that originated from them running around Kingston’s local reservoir, Mona Dam) the philosophy was to promote a healthy lifestyle through running. Since 1995 – when the Jamdammers got together for the first time – to the worldwide event it is now, that mandate hasn’t changed.
How much?
Entry fee prices increase the closer to the start time you get. If the race entry fee is paid before 1 December 2014, it will cost £63 (100 American dollars) for the marathon. Round trip with British airways: £647, 7 nights in the Travellers Beach resort in Negril: £488, money spent on rum: £60. Total cost: £1,258
How tough?
Flat, serene and picturesque throughout. The looped course takes you through the town of Negril before running 7 miles along the town’s famed White Sand beach. Expect the temperature to be a warm 25 degrees C.
