The Perkins Great Eastern Run is one of the fastest growing half marathons in the country and in 2014 the race attracted record participants making it the highest attended Perkins Great Eastern Run to date.
Entries came in from all over the UK and overseas and it was Kenyans who dominated the half-marathon as they did the year previous. Kenya’s Jonah Chesum, a 25 year-old Paralympian, stormed to victory in 63mins 36secs, finishing 20 seconds clear of Loitarakwai Lengurisi. Ugandan Ben Siwa claimed third with a 64.14.
First UK runner home was Ben Livesey from RAF Waddington took fourth place with 66.26. Steve Way, who broke the British Over 40 marathon record at the Commonwealth Games in the summer, finished 7th.

Peterborough is well-placed on the UK’s road and rail network and is within easy reach of major airports. The city sits east of the A1 just 80 miles north of London. Peterborough train station is situated on the East Coast Mainline and is only a short walk from the city centre where the race starts from.
