The Rat Race Dirty Weekend returns this Saturday (9 May), but with a slight twist.
For those that don’t know, the Dirty Weekend race takes place at Burghley House, a huge estate in Lincolnshire. The route itself boasts 20 miles of mud and lakes, and includes a whopping 200 obstacles.
After the completing the race, the day doesn’t just stop there. There is a ‘festival like’ party, so everyone can seemingly dance off their wounds and drink away their pain.
This of course leads to the camping aspect of the weekend, again, giving it a festival type feel.
There’s something a little different about the Dirty Weekend this year however. The event are going for a world record attempt, for the, wait for it, the largest number of people in one area wearing underpants. Yes, underpants.
We at Men’s Running received an underpants starter kit, which you can see right. The record currently stands at 2,270, and in case you’re wondering why, it was in the Utah Undie Run back in 2011.
Entry to the 2015 event (8th – 10th May) is open until capacity is reached and costs £145 per person or £139 per person when entered as a team of 5, and £129 per person for a team of 10. This entry fee includes access to the after party.
Camping tickets are also available to buy, with prices ranging from £20 – £30 for two nights and can be purchased after buying your race entry.
