Today Nike launch a big update to its Nike+ Running app that could be set to change the way you manage your running data.

In a new deal, Nike have expanded its global partnerships in what it says will ‘motivate more runners around the world’.

Before you would have to either use a Nike+ tracker or take out your phone with you, whereas now you can wear your TomTom, Garmin, Wahoo or Netpulse as normal and the Nike+ app will read your data.

The update is happening at some point throughout today and will reveal a new option called ‘Partners’. Here you can then connect your device.

On the article they released on its website, Nike said: “We’re constantly looking to optimize every aspect of the Nike+ Running experience.

“By listening to the voice of the Nike+ Running community, our latest release features several enhancements designed to make running with Nike+ even better for our athletes.”

A big advantage for runners is that you can now share your runs on social media, many running apps still do not have this feature.

So stay tuned and update!
