With recovery and what we intake becoming forever important, the market is wide open for all sorts of supplements and enhancements.
PhD have certainly not missed the boat with this either, and as a result have released a range of flavours to make your protein consumption that much easier. This isn’t especially new among some of the major protein brands, but some of these flavours are and we review three of them:
Strawberry Crème
It’s pretty much what you would expect with a standard strawberry shake, except the crème part gives a much lighter yet thicker tasting feel. What is great about this compared to the others is that you’re not forcing this one down. With either cold water or milk, this can be quite an enjoyable drink.
Mint Chocolate
Having never been a fan of mint based drinks or indeed, ice creams, I always knew I was going to struggle with this one. However, the big positive is that this shake will leave you feeling refreshed. Definitely more so than the other three. Be warned though, the mint will leave a tingling feeling on the inside of your mouth!
Banana
If I’m being honest, which I am, this one reminded me of the taste of medicine from my childhood. The banana flavour was definitely there, but the syrup type taste was equally just as present. Having said that, I never really used to mind those as a kid, probably because it was full of sugar, but day after day this flavour might start to get a little sickly.
Other flavours include: Chocolate Cookie, Chocolate Orange, Chocolate Peanut and Vanilla Crème.
All packed with the good stuff, per scoop you get roughly 18 grams of protein.
