5:15min/km – the average pace for a runner on Strava during the 2014 Berlin Marathon, with a 0:45 seconds per kilometre difference between men and women

3:41:40 – the average finishing time of men at the Berlin Marathon. Women averaged 4:13:27

Strava, the global online community for athletes, has revealed a unique insight into runners’ performance and what it takes to complete the BMW BERLIN-MARATHON. Strava collected hundreds of thousands of GPS data points along the race course, from a total of 1,031 Strava members who uploaded their 2014 Berlin Marathon GPS activity.
