Alistair Brownlee made global headlines when he helped his exhausted brother Jonathan cross the finish line in the World Triathlon Series event in Cozumel – giving up his own chance to win the race in the process.
Meanwhile Swansea Harriers’ Matthew Rees was hailed a hero when he selflessly sacrificed his own race at this year’s Virgin Media London Marathon to help struggling David Wyeth from Chorlton Harriers finish the 26.2-mile event.
This is the spirit of the Men’s Running CALM #RaceForAMate 10K, taking place in London’s Finsbury Park on October 7th: that special bond that only runners form united in a single cause to do something for a charity that works tirelessly to raise awareness of mental health issues amongst young men across the UK. For every entry, Men’s Running will be donating £2 to CALM. Open to both men and women, this is a chance to do something great for a special mate!
Open to both men and women, entry is just £16 until midnight on 7th July, with the price then rising to £22.
*Your entry price includes a £2 donation to CALM.
And if you can’t get to the event proper – which takes place on October 7th at London’s Finsbury Park – you don’t need to miss out. The Men’s Running/Calm #raceforamate 10K is also available to people to run in a virtual environment: simply complete a 10K at any point from 10am on October 7th to midnight on October 8th, send us your evidence and claim your special bespoke medal. It really is that simple.
