Good week:

Paula Radcliffe returned to racing action for the first time since April 2012 with a respectable third place finish at the Worcester City 10K. The marathon world record holder finished with a time of 35 minutes and 49 seconds.

American sprinter Wallace Spearmon has been banned for three months after being tested positive for a banned substance by the United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA).

According to Stanford University researchers, runners who played ball sports (for example, football) as kids have a 50% less chance of picking up stress fractures than those who didn’t.
