Hong Kong boasted its first inner-city marathon at the weekend, despite race organisers dubbing it as “quite boring”.

The 50K event was the first of its kind in the 32nd highest populated city in the world. However, the race saw competitors cover the 31-mile distance by running the same stretch of road 25 times.

The winner, Nester Wong, clocked a time of 3hrs 24mins 20secs and has defended the ultra marathon course by saying it’s great to hear the fans and that they spur him on.
