The South Devon 10K is a circular route through an area of outstanding natural beauty in the South Hams, taking in little known bridle paths and farm tracks and skirting Stoke Gabriel’s stunning Mill Pond on the River Dart at the half way point. All 10k finishers will receive a technical T-shirt and prizes include local cider and gift vouchers.
There will be lots of activities for runners and spectators, making it a fun day out for the whole family. Everyone is encouraged to join in, but if you don’t fancy the 10K, then there’s a ¾ mile fun run just before the main event which is open to all ages so you can get the kids involved.
Organised by Friends of South Devon College, it is a real life learning experience for Sports and Public Services students who take on various marshaling, time keeping and communications roles.
All are welcome from experienced runners to complete beginners and walkers. With excellent feedback about the route and the organisation of the race, which is in its sixth year, the event hopes to attract 500 runners on Saturday 16th May 2015.
Both events start and finish at the South Devon College Campus and there’s plenty of free, easy parking on site. The fun run starts at 11.15am and the 10K race at 12.00pm. There’s a £2 surcharge if you enter on the day – so sign up now to secure your place and save money!
